Happy-Go-Lucky (2008)

Happy-Go-Lucky (2008) — I really liked Sally Hawkins in the lead and Eddie Marsan as a seriously disturbed driving instructor who is her polar opposite.  The main character Poppy (Hawkins) is one of those extremely cheery people; not the annoying kind, but rather the kind who infects you with their cheeriness.  A light breezy musical score helps elevate this cheeriness even farther.  So that I liked.  But the movie as a whole never really connected with me.  It felt like it dragged on.  Positive outlooks can only carry one so far.
