The Inglorious Bastards (1978)

The Inglorious Bastards (1978) — Like they said on Entourage, “Quentin Tarantino only rips off the best.”  The plot: in 1944 in France a bunch of American soldiers are headed to court martial but their convoy is attacked by Germans.  Everyone is killed except for five prisoners.  The Americans will re-capture, court martial, and probably execute them.  The Germans just want to kill them.  So they choose option 3: Switzerland.  Getting there is the problem.  Bo Svenson and Fred Williamson are the biggest stars in the movie, which was shot in Italy on the cheap a la spaghetti westerns. Basically this movie is like The Dirty Dozen, but more badass and with better pacing.  Oh, and gratuitous nudity.  If you like cheap Italian flicks from the 70s (and really, who in their right mind doesn’t?) and old-fashioned-but-not-too-old-fashioned WWII flicks, this one kicks just enough ass to be worth the hour and a half of your life.
