Grosse Pointe Blank (1995)

Grosse Pointe Blank (1995) — So my mom watched The Mist with me and got kind of freaked out so we decided to watch something funny.  I argued for Buffy the Vampire Slayer to keep up the Halloween theme but it was one in the morning and therefore no longer Halloween plus Grosse Pointe Blank was on cable so it won out.  No complaints.  I have one issue with this movie and that concerns the ages of the characters.  At a 10-year high school reunion everyone should generally be in the 27-29 year age range.  Everyone in this movie looks to be in their mid-30s.  Some of the minor characters are passable but John Cusack, Minnie Driver, Jeremy Piven, Michael Cudlitz, Carlos Jacott, Cusack’s non-famous sister Ann, and that chick who played Dharma don’t pass for their late 20s, not even twelve years ago (ok, maybe Dharma did).  Speaking of Cusacks, in the end credits there were four!  John and Joan being the obvious ones, but there were two others.  Talk about a family business.  Joe Strummer did the music for this movie so that’s badass.  I haven’t really talked about the movie itself… that’s odd.  It’s quite funny.  Check it out.
