Red Riding: In the Year of Our Lord 1983 (2009)

Red Riding: In the Year of Our Lord 1983 (2009) — The third and final installment of the Red Riding trilogy really ties the three films (one big miniseries from British television) together.  It serves as a very good thriller and definitely answers some of the questions that were lingering from the first two installments but for whatever reason I felt a certain level of disconnect.  I just wasn’t as into it as I was the 1980 chapter (though I did like it better than 1974).  I’m not really sure why, which really kind of defeats the whole purpose of reviewing films.  David Morrissey, reprising his role as Maurice Jobson, gets to play more of a role this time around.  No longer the background character from the previous films, this chapter more thoroughly explores Jobson’s role in the conspriacy in the West Yorkshire Police Department.  I will say that the film ends on more of an up note than the previous two.
