Supergods by Grant Morrison

Supergods by Grant Morrison

You look back at the societies of ancient Greece or Rome and they had their mythology. Hercules and Osiris and the gods of old provided rich storytelling traditions which became the basis for storytelling as we know it. Now we have superheroes. Grant Morrison, acclaimed comic writer and hell of a nice guy (the one time I met him anyway), tackled that mythology in this great and informative book. It’s a gripping read. It’s part history of the medium, part analysis, part memoir. After reading it I am finally getting back into comics after a couple years being away from them (not coincidentally timed with my unemployment). This book comes recommended for comics fans or those looking to become same.
